From August 26–27, the "2023 Inaugural (Beijing) Cell Pharmaceutical Industry Development Conference"—hosted by the Regenerative Medicine Committee of the China Association of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and the Tongxieyi New Drug Talent Club, and co-organized by Beijing Huakun Biotechnology Co., Ltd.—was held at the KunTai Hotel in Beijing. The event brought together experts and scholars from industry, regulatory, and clinical circles to explore the future of cutting-edge cell science and translational medicine and to help homegrown innovation take root and break through.
With the theme "Intelligent Cell Pharmaceuticals, Future Therapies," the conference featured one main forum and five themed breakout sessions, covering distinct areas such as stem cell drug development, gene therapy drug development, immune cells, and exosomes. The goal was to build a cell pharma ecosystem and foster deep exchange and collaboration.

At the Immune Cell Forum, Chief Scientist Professor Wang Jianxun delivered a presentation titled "Selection of Viral Vectors for Industrial-Scale Production of Cell Therapy Drugs," joining experts and scholars to discuss technology updates and industry trends. Professor Wang noted that cell biopharmaceuticals represent the frontier of biotechnology and a critical technology tied to public health, showing substantial potential across oncology, autoimmune diseases, metabolic disorders, and other areas.
Professor Wang pointed out that viral vectors are a key raw material for cell therapy and an excellent gene delivery tool with irreplaceable advantages. Retroviral vectors and lentiviral vectors are the most widely used in cell therapy. Given China's large cancer population, retroviral vector technology offers advantages in production capacity and cost at industrial scale, drawing significant attention in global pipelines and approved cell drug applications. Shenzhen Cell Valley Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is the only CRO/CDMO one-stop outsourcing service provider in China with industrial-grade retroviral vector technology (PackRV-SE and other systems). It has established standardized, normalized, industrial-scale GMP production lines for multiple viral vectors including retroviral (RVV) and lentiviral (LVV) vectors, as well as cell production lines for CAR-T, CAR-NK, TCR-T, and other products. This effectively addresses the capacity and cost bottlenecks in critical raw materials for cell therapy, ensuring that leading cell industry technologies genuinely reach more patients.
At this event, Shenzhen Cell Valley drew considerable attention, showcasing its unique technological advantages and corporate profile to visitors from all sectors and laying a solid foundation for future exchange and collaboration.
